School

School is not one of my favorite things, but it’s not the worst. When your at school you always get to see your friends and sometimes it can be fun. It’s bad when your slacking off and not doing anything. Then it just becomes hard to keep up with and you just want to skip all the time. I like to have a good time when I’m at school because then it keeps me in a positive attitude and I can get more work done and stay on task a little better. Sometimes I’ll go to school and I’ll want to leave the second I get there because I know I have a ton of homework to do and not much time to do it. When you have your pals there helping and getting you through the day it can never be bad. I’m afraid to ask for help most of the time because I feel like the teachers will be mad because I don’t understand it after they have already explained it two or three times. Math is my least favorite class, but we have a nice teacher so it’s not too bad. All in all school isn’t too bad.

Anger

Anger can be a very destructive thing. It can also help you in some ways. If you get angry and you don’t know how to control it, it can get you in a lot of trouble. In sports like football when you get mad it makes you and 10x more physical player and that’s what the coaches like to see. In baseball anger is your worst enemy. If you strike out and you get down on yourself your probably going to strike out a couple more times. There’s nothing that’s really that good about being angry. You don’t think straight and people can get on your nerves your very liable to explode at any moment.  I get angry quite a bit and get overwhelmed at the littlest things. I see other people get angry and I think “Is that what I look like?” and I probably look worse. When I get mad I just completley stop thinking. I don’t know what’s wrong and right. I just wish I knew what to do about it or how to make it better. I get mad at school and then the rest of my day just goes to crap. All in all it’s not good.

My Teams

There are sports fans all over the world. Most people have favorite teams and some just like to see a good game. Some fans defend their team with their life. Like last year there was a fan murdered after a Raiders and 49ers game. A son and his father were in a heated argument with a raiders fan and the father was shot a killed in the parking lot following the game that day. Now I’m not that passionate about my teams that I would kill someone, but I would defend my team the best I could! My favorite team of all time is the Chicago Cubs. I know, I know they aren’t the best, but they’re on the up-rise! They have good young players like Starlin Castro who led the league in hits his second year, Anthony Rizzo who was runner up for a gold glove his second year, and Junior Lake who went 5 for 5 in his first major league game. My favorite football team is the Baltimore Ravens. They won the super bowl last year against the 49ers and it was their second super in the 13 years that they have been an organization. My favorite college team is the Iowa Hawkeyes. They have had their ups and downs in sports through the years but they usually have pretty decent teams.

Grandpa Hips

When I was in the 5th grade one night me and my brother Thane decided it would be fun to camp out. So we set up the tent and we camped out for the night. When I woke up the next morning I felt the worst pain I ever had in my left hip. So we went on through the day and my mom kept asking me to go to the chiropractor, but I was scared to go. We stayed the weekend at our dads house that weekend and I couldn’t stand the pain anymore. So the next morning my mom picked me up and we went to the chiropractor in Tingley. I felt better after that, but I never felt quite the same. All through junior-high I had problems with my hips and couldn’t stay healthy very long. So my freshman year I opted not to play football and I ran cross-country. We were still having to go to the chiropractor and get adjusted every so often though. My sophomore year we moved into Murray, Iowa. We went to school at Murray, but Corbin my older brother and I ran cross-country at Clarke. During track my sophomore year I was having trouble with my hips and I thought it was a pulled muscle in my left hip. My junior year I decided I was going to try football again. In July, they had summer camps to start getting back into it. I made a sharp cut and I felt a pop in my hip. So my mom suggested we go see a doctor about my hips after about 6 years of off and on pain. The doctor told us that I had an overgrown femur in my right and left legs. My right is ten times worse. There’s also a torn muscle in the socket of my right hip. So we are having surgery December 19th to get it all fixed.

DOME

This last week our football team went to the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa. It’s about 2 and a half hours away from where we go to school in Murray, Iowa. To make it to the dome you have to win 3 playoff games. If you win those 3 you are district champion and get to go play in a semi-final game at Cedar Falls in the UNI-Dome. Our team, The Murray Mustangs has made it to the dome the last two years and the first year we made it we were state runner-up. The second year we made it to the dome we lost in the semi-final game, but it was the highest scoring game ever in Iowa High-School football. The final was 78-76 in overtime. We lost on a failed two-point conversion to end the game. In the game we were playing Don Bosco and their star player was Jake Hogan. He ran for around 250 yards and we had no answer to his running game. This year we made it to the first round of playoffs and we were playing Wayne of Corydon. We had played them earlier in the season for homecoming. When we played them then we won 47-22. Their star player is their running back, Clayton Kieffer. He is one of the most hard-nosed running backs in 8 man football in my opinion.
